Meet Our Team

Meagan Tucker is twenty-four and the owner of Elysian Studio. Meagan lives right outside of Birmingham, Alabama with her husband, Aaron and two adorable fur babies, Maya and Leo. She has worked as a licensed cosmetologist for the previous 6 years after graduating from Paul Mitchell the School Birmingham and in 2018 branched out to owning her own salon. If she’s not in the salon, you can find her at a local coffee shop or keeping up with the world of fashion. She also loves traveling to big cities because it inspires her both personally and in her professional career. Her love for cosmetology comes from actually being on the other side of the chair and having her own hair and makeup done for different special occasions. She loved the process, creativity and experience of being in the chair that it opened her mind to the thought of actually doing it for other people. Her professional experience includes hair cuts, hair color, weddings, pageants, editorial and any other special event hair and makeup. What she loves most about her job is being able to express her own creativity and see a genuine change in how people feel about themselves.

Jayde Bailey is a charismatic twenty-eight year old married to the love of her life, Mason. Jayde is from the suburbs of Birmingham, Alabama. She has a dog, Bronx, but she is obsessed with her two cats, Eleanor and Linda. She loves to travel and meet new people, which fits perfectly with her bubbly personality and infectious smile and you can almost always catch her wearing something in animal print! She has been a licensed cosmetologist for the last 8 years and has worked alongside us for the last 4 years. Jayde’s professional experience consists of haircuts, hair color, waxing, weddings, pageants, and other special event hair and makeup. Her favorite thing about what she gets to do is the people that she works alongside of on a day to day basis.

Alex Thomas is twenty-three and married to her husband, Judson. If Alex is not in the salon, you can find her listening to country music on the lake or relaxing on the beach. She loves watching movies in her spare time, especially all 80’s and 90’s classics! Alex is incredibly close to her family and loves spending time with them. She attended the Aveda Institute and earned her cosmetology degree in 2016. She has worked alongside us for the last 3 years. Alex’s professional experience includes haircuts, hair color, eyelash extensions, weddings, pageants and any other special event hair and makeup. Alex’s favorite thing about her job is all the fun and excitement it brings into her life.

Makenzie Armstrong is a creative twenty-three year old who grew up in Corner, Alabama. When she’s not in the salon, you’ll be able to find her laying by the pool, painting, listening to her favorite records, or spending time with her family, friends and boyfriend. She is a fur mom to her dog, Gucci, and cat, Gia. Self expression has always been important to her, whether it’s through art, her tattoos, or fashion, so having a career where she can be creative and empower individuals by doing their hair or makeup is so rewarding. Her professional experience includes hair colors, haircuts, waxing, hand-tied extensions, weddings, pageants, and special event hair & makeup.

Mia Dodson is twenty-five and from a small town outside of Cullman, Alabama. She is a southern girl with a love for artistry, coffee, and her dog, Teddy. She’s a self taught professional makeup artist with a passion for creativity. Her love for makeup artistry started during childhood and has stayed with her all of these years. She has been a free-lance makeup artist for over 5 years. She has been working for MAC cosmetics for 4 years where she has learned from highly skilled makeup artists that have done makeup for New York Fashion Week. Her professional experience consists of weddings, special events, pageants, boudoir, and creative makeup applications. Her favorite thing about her job is helping people embrace their true beauty.

Ashlyn Hodges serves as our executive assistant and studio coordinator. Outside of the salon, Ashlyn loves to watch Netflix cuddled up with her cat, Ella. As studio coordinator, Ashlyn handles emails, clients and scheduling. Ashlyn is pursuing a career in cosmetology and is currently enrolled at Paul Mitchell the School Birmingham. Her favorite thing about the hair and makeup industry is getting to do so many different things, whether it be a prom, a wedding, or just every day hair and makeup.
